What happened to people having common courtesy for others in daily life? From the home to the classroom, the radio to the TV. When did it become okay for Kanye to feel entitled to get up on stage and make Taylor Swift feel less than Beyonce and embarrassing her on MTV.
Moreover, where has customer service gone in our neighborhoods? What happened to employees of retailers saying "hello" or "good afternoon"?
When did it become okay for children to act like "Veruca Salt" to their parents? The lack of tact and respect is all to visible from shows like "Keeping up with the Kardashians" on the E channel to "Super Sweet 16" on MTV. Are parents no longer teaching their children the "Golden Rule", has the words "polite" and "etiquette" become dirty words.
Everywhere you look we are seeming to become more and more immune from showing respect to others. For example, how about saying excuse me when you bump into someone while walking down the street or saying "thank you" to the waiter who brought your food, or for that matter kids texting in the classroom while the teacher is teaching. Really? Are you f#@% kidding? This is what we have to look forward from here on out, a nation of tactless and disrespectful , and numb people? Really? This sucks. What are you thoughts on this, subject please email your stories and thoughts asap.
Seriously, I was taught from the very beginning to be cordial, polite, attentive, and respectful to everybody, even if their hair is purple and their nose ring is hanging down to their belly buttons.
ReplyDeleteOur children are the literally the picture of stereotypes people have of our culture...they're lazy, they need explanation for everything, autonomy is no longer acceptable, etc. I think what they need is a good humbling experience...I can say the same for those damn kids on "My Sweet 16."
And really? You think it's ok for your kids to sass off like that? Ahh...you forgot to mention "Toddlers in Tiara's." We can't get enough of this garbage. I watch it and I can't believe I live in a society where kids act like that. They are entirely too materialistic. What happened to just having some legos and making due with what you have?
